Helping Our Neighbors
Jesus calls us to grow in our Lenten journey by sharing God’s love with others.
Lenten Sharing Bags
Each year Prince of Peace picks several charities to sponsor with donations of products for each. Grocery bags are given out with a list of items to be purchased and brought back to the church for collection and distribution.
30 Hour Famine
On February 22-23, our high school youth will join with groups from St. John's Rockville adn St. Nicholas, Huntington, in a 30 hour famine to raise awareness and money for children throughout the world who are dying of hunger each day.
Lenten Carbon Fast Calendar
This year, our congregation is once again joining many others in a Lenten Carbon “Fast.” Each day during Lent, the calendar helps you take action to reduce our production of climate change pollution and to help preserve God’s great gift of Creation. The fast includes simple ways to save energy (and money). Many items you may already do!
Growing our Faith
Lent is an especially good time to focus on deepening our spiritual relationship with God and community with others.
We ecourage everyone to find personally meaningful ways to deepen these relationships, especially through worship, study, prayer and service to others.
