Worship & Music
Dynamic worship opportunities offer ways to experience God’s love in Christ through Word and Sacrament. We have three regularly scheduled weekend worship services, which all include music, the appointed Bible readings, Holy Communion, a sermon and children’s sermon.
In addition, we offer special services during Lent, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and other times throughout the year. We have several musical groups and instrumentalists, both members and guests, who enhance our worship, as well as our Drama Ministry and Puppet Ministry which present the Children’s sermon at various times throughout the year. A staffed nursery is provided at all services for children 5 and under. Members are encouraged to help in worship as individuals and families. Our 5 pm Saturday service is a smaller, come as you are type service.
Our 8:30 am service on Sunday features more contemporary music which may be led on piano or by our band, Grace Notes. At this service, we try to include a variety styles of contemporary music, including Christian rock, folk music and newer arrangements of classic hymnody.
Our 11 am Sunday service is our more traditional service, and is led on the organ. This service features more traditional hymnody and liturgical music.
Many members and guests offer their musical gifts to praise God throughout the year. We have three regularly scheduled choirs and ensembles. Grace Notes, our contemporary worship band, is composed entirely of our own members and rehearses each Thursday evening at 7:30 pm. Our Adult Choir, led by Bruce Wachholz, rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm. Our Youth Choir, for children in the elementary ages, is led by Danielle Drobny and rehearses each Thursday evening at 5 pm.
