Pastor Steve Buechler, Senior Pastor

Pastor Steve Buechler is a graduate of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, and was ordained by the Metropolitan Washington DC Synod in 1991. Since 2002, Pastor Steve has served Prince of Peace. His ministry at Prince of Peace focuses on worship, outreach, Confirmation ministry, stewardship and administration. Pastor Steve also currently serves as Dean of the Montgomery Conference.

Pastor Sarah Scherschligt, Associate Pastor

Pastor Sarah Scherschligt was ordained in November, 2007. Prince of Peace is her first call. She has a Masters of Divinity from Yale Divinity School with additional studies at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA. She has worked for over 5 years in international education, most recently at the Center for Global Education at Augsburg College in Windhoek, Namibia. Her ministry at Prince of Peace focuses on education, youth and families, social ministry, and community-building. She is Prince of Peace’s first Associate Pastor.

Carol Barotti, Administrative Secretary

Carol Barotti has served as our Administrative Secretary since July of 2005. She makes our office run smoothly and efficiently, providing essential support to both paid staff and volunteers. Carol is also responsible for relaying information to and from our volunteers and committee chairs. If you have a question and don’t know whom to ask, please check with Carol.

Bruce Wachholz, Organist & Adult Choir Director office@poplutheran.org
Bruce Wachholz has over 50 years experience of excellence in playing the organ and working with choirs and instrumental groups. Since 2002, Bruce has served Prince of Peace. He is our organist at the late service on Sunday mornings, directs the adult choir and accompanies our Lenten services.

Danielle Drobny, Pianist & Youth Choir Director

Danielle Drobny received her B.A. in Music Performance from Greensboro College, and has served at Prince of Peace since August, 2005. An accomplished pianist, Danielle plays piano for our 8:30 am Sunday service and accompanies our band, Grace Notes, on the keyboard. Danielle also directs our Youth Choir and accompanies performances of our Youth musicals.

Claire Cho, Saturday Service Pianist

Claire Cho is a doctoral candidate in Music Education at Columbia University. Claire has served as our Saturday service pianist since July, 2005. She is also an accomplished violinist, who has shared her gifts on the violin with us as well.
