Small Groups Prince of Peace has a variety of small groups for adults which help us grow together with God and with one another. These include:
Sunday School for all ages from September through May. Each year, we offer classes for children from age 3 and up, and a variety of classes for adults. Our adult learning opportunities include Bible studies and topical and book discussion groups.
Bible Studies – in addition to Bible studies offered during Sunday School, Prince of Peace offers two other weekday Bible studies for adults. On Wednesdays at noon, Pastor Steve leads a lunchtime Bible study from 12 noon – 1 pm. On Tuesday evenings, A.G. Yeakle leads a Bible study from 7:30 – 9 pm.
Tables of 8 – This wonderful fellowship activity for all adults is a popular way to have fun, meet new people, and share good food! One month you may host dinner and provide the main dish and drink (although you don’t have to host in order to participate). The other single adults or couples bring either vegetables, salad and bread, or dessert. The Tables of Eight coordinator works out the schedule along with what you bring each month.
Titus 2 – this Women’s group is designed to encourage and equip women through a variety of experiences to live purposefully for God as they serve in their home, church, work and community. Women’s friendships, spiritual journey books, Christian musicians, relaxation techniques and a spa time are among the topics presented. Fellowship and interesting snacks are provided, too! Titus 2 meets in the Besecker Youth Center on the third Friday of each month at 7:30 pm.
Men’s Group – the Men’s Group meets each week at the church on Saturday mornings from 7:45 am – 9:00 am. They meet for fellowship, Bible study, occasional special projects and, of course, donuts!
Women’s Book Group – All interested women are invited to join the Book Group to share stimulating conversation and thoughtful insights into an eclectic choice of literary works. Members select books several months in advance – both fiction and non-fiction, some heavy and others lighter fare – and the group discusses them. This group meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm. Members take turns hosting the gatherings and providing refreshments.
Quilters – The quilters make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. If you can tie a square knot, cut a 9” square and have 2 hours to spare, this group that will “keep you in stitches.” They meet each Tuesday at the church from 10 am – 12 noon.
